Recently, I took a trip down to one of my favorite places ever... Venice, Florida! I decided to compile a list of my favorite things to do when i'm there! I also got a bunch of questions about where I took these photos! So, I am breaking down all of my favorites in this post!
Starting off with one of my favorite beaches ever, Caspersen! This is still on the island but it is a few miles south of Venice beach. It is a natural beach, meaning there are no lifeguards or major tourist attractions here! This little beach is never really too busy and makes you feel like you are on a private island. Sometimes it can feel like you are fighting for an umbrella spot, but that is very unlikely to happen here. This little beach is truly a hidden gem! This is also a great place to look for beautiful shells and shark teeth!
The second place I always make sure to visit is Upper Crust! This is the cutest cafe right on Venice avenue, and they are known for their scones! I can confirm that they are delicious! Make sure you get there early in the morning, because they have been known to sell out...almost every day.
The Avenue itself is such a beautiful place to walk and shop! This is the main downtown part of Venice right on the island. There are so many places to eat, shop, and look at beautiful scenery while you're at it! I also recommend checking out Miami Avenue as well, and this is one block south of Venice avenue! On Miami Ave, make sure you stop by my favorite coffee shop, Island Coffee, and The Island Book Shop! These are two of my favorite places to visit!
Another place I highly recommend going to is Aqua Silks! The best way to describe it is an interactive art experience where you can design your own skills! Back in March, my gram and I designed our own silk scarfs. It was such a fun experience. Susan, the owner, is so kind and sweet! She gives you a great lesson and history all about the art of aqua silks.
If you do anything with your time in Venice, I highly recommend Sail Venice! This gives you the opportunity to see Venice from the water and explore the beautiful Gulf of Mexico! I absolutely loved this when I did it a few years ago! It is such a beautiful way to spend the afternoon!
There are so many more things I would love to add to this list, but for now, this is a great start! With every trip I take down to Venice I fall in love more and more every time.
xoxo
